Over the last 30 years, Pratham has grown to be one of India’s largest NGOs working to provide quality education to underprivileged youth and children in over 25 states and union territories across the country, with a range of interventions.

About Pratham-Shah PraDigi Innovation Center

Pratham Digital (PraDigi) has produced over 10,000+ videos and 900+ learning resources in the last few years. These resources can be viewed at www.prathamopenschool.org. These resources have been deployed and monitored in many rural and urban communities. With each passing year, this repository of content – videos, games, and applications has grown to cater to the interests and engagement of children.

Translating videos into 14 regional languages and English helped us become relevant and accessible to learners in all states. In this effort to make engaging content reach learners across India, Pratham has been actively collaborating with youth-driven start-ups, content creators, and interest groups.

Tech Enabled English Program:

Our current English program is tech-enabled, integrating traditional teaching methods with digital tools to enhance learning. The program leverages technology to improve students’ reading, speaking, and comprehension skills, providing a more interactive and flexible learning experience. By combining both in-person and online or tech elements, it ensures high-quality education is accessible to students in both rural and urban areas.

English Master Trainer: Job Description

The position is for an English Master Trainer who is fluent in English and has a strong understanding of English teaching methodology. The role involves training English tutors in both rural and urban parts of India. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with excellent spoken and written English skills, and a passion for education and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a good understanding of PraDigi’s methodology of the English Learning Program.
  • Conducting English training programs for potential tutors for children between the ages of 11 and 14, and youth, both in-person in various parts of India and remotely.
  • Identifying shortcomings in tutors and customizing training sessions to address their specific needs.
  • Maintaining a good level of English fluency and staying up to date in English language teaching methods.
  • Monitoring progress of learners (tutors) and reporting feedback to the PraDigi central team.
  • Tracking and maintaining records of technology and data needs from the assigned region in coordination with the content team.
  • Working closely with the content design team to create and test engaging training sessions, collaborating with other members of the training team.
  • Collecting and documenting key observations and insights to help shape content design, program execution, and strategic decisions.
  • Interacting directly with program participants, using methods like surveys and focus groups to assess how well the program is working.
  • Documenting and highlighting impactful stories of change through both written stories and visual content.

Requirements:

  • Excellent spoken and written English skills,
  • Graduate or Post Graduate in English, education or related field,
  • Teaching/Tutoring experience (Preferable),
  • Comfort and familiarity with technology (apps on smartphones and data collection and reporting tools such as Microsoft word, excel etc.),
  • Willingness to travel to various locations across India to conduct courses with tutors,
  • Ability to read and converse in Hindi (Preferable).

Location: Pune

Remuneration: Negotiable based on resume and experience
